Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has asked the Nigerian Army to be loyal to the Nigerian people, rather than intimidating them.
The army had pledged its commitment to the President of Nigeria and threatened to move with force on peaceful #EndSARS protesters in the country.
Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa, in a statement on Wednesday night labelled the protesters as subversive elements and trouble makers.

The army also said that Nigerian youth were anti-democratic forces and agents of disunity working against the country.
But Sowore in a tweet on Thursday described the army’s statement as highly irresponsible, inappropriate and provocative.
He said, “#ENDSWAT Nigerian Army has no business supporting despots. This statement is highly irresponsible, inappropriate and provocative. The army should be loyal to its employer – the Nigerian people! Stop using the @HQNigerianArmy to intimidate Nigerians, it won’t work! #RevolutionNow.”
